Kieth Pereles
Guide
Kieth Pereles first river trip was when he joined in on his cousin’s boy scout troop trip in 1984 on Lehigh River in Eastern Pennsylvania. It may have been a bit of a rocky start, as he was the kid who refused to wear a wetsuit and swam, but it worked out because he started training to become a guide on the Arkansas River in Colorado in June of 1996. After many seasons of private kayaking and raft guiding, he started guiding professionally on Clear Creek in 2004. Since then, Kieth has guided in Colorado and West Virginia. When asked what his favorite river of all time is, Kieth answered:
“Mamma says rivers are like a box of chocolates, you snatch a delicious double fudgy lookin’ one only to find you really got a mouth full of orangey/chocolatey weirdness, yet they all end up being yummy in their own ways. My favorite river would have to be the one and only circular river: the amazing river of life. Hakuna Matata!”
Although Kieth tries to not have too many days off during the rafting season, when he does, he always does something amazingly interesting… laundry. He also delves into home and auto improvements (repairs), and sometimes enjoys playing music. He always strives to support his local small business with his spare time as well: the brewery and the laundromat.
