Middle Clear Creek Canyon

This is the best family adventure for rafting near Denver! This trip offers 10 fun, class III rapids, including Castle Falls, Mountain Lion and Mr. Twister. This section of Clear Creek keeps you moving from start to finish with almost no flat water. Floating through the historic mining town of Idaho Springs, “Where it all Began”, you will see the legendary Argo Gold Mine & Mill as well as the historic Charlie Taylor Water Wheel after you leave the most important point in Colorado history, the Chicago Creek putin, where George Jackson discovered gold in 1858.

This is your best opportunity for beginner rafting near Denver.

Upper Clear Creek Canyon
(Intermediate):  $99.00

Trip times: 8:00, 9:00, 10:30, 12:00, 1:30, 3:30 & 4:30

Starting at the historic mill site in the old mining town of Dumont, you will find the consistent rapids of this section of river will keep your attention the entire trip. After 2 miles of continuous class II -III rapids to warm up, you will drop into your first longer rapid, Nomad and then immediately into Fall River rapid. Catch your breath in the class III Stairsteps leading you into the ¼ mile long Phoenix rapid (named after the Phoenix Gold Mine) followed immediately by the boulder choked Deliverance. This section of Clear Creek offers plenty of opportunities for whitewater surfing and the finale, Outer Limits, as you return into Idaho Springs. This trip is for people looking for excitement and adventure rafting near Denver and is sure to test your limits.

If you’re in reasonably physically fit, know how to swim, and 14 years old, this is the Colorado rafting trip for you!

Upper Clear Creek Canyon
(Advanced):  $118.00

Trip time:  9:15

This is a special trip with only 1 launch per day and we are the only outfitter offering this 1⁄2 day trip!  You will start at 8200 ft in the Rocky Mountains, putting on in the natural surroundings of the free flowing snowmelt on Clear Creek in the mining town of Lawson.  After warming up in the first mile, you will find yourself in the steep and narrow rapids of  Meat and Bones followed by Lumpy’s, each is close to a ½ mile long class IV+.  Follow that up with our most popular stretch of river, the Upper Clear Creek Canyon (Intermediate), filled with continuous class III and IV rapids that include Nomad, Phoenix (named after the Phoenix Gold Mine), and your final rapid, Outer Limits, which is sure to get your attention as you return to Idaho Springs.  This is a great way to start your day rafting near Denver!

Lower Clear Creek Canyon
(Advanced):  $125.00

Trip times:  12:15, 3:45

Starting outside of Idaho Springs, near the historic biker bar Kermit’s, made famous by writer Hunter S Thompson, this is the “Classic” Advanced Canyon,  following US Route 6 through Clear Creek Canyon Park to GoldenPlunging over Upper and Lower Beaver falls will get your attention but they are just the start. You will go through the steepest section of rapids commercially available in Colorado!  Guide Ejector, Double Knife, Hells ½ mile (Hell’s Corner and Deep Hell) followed immediately by the Terminators, you will drop over 150′ vertical feet in less than a mile. This steep, continuous and technical section of Clear Creek boasts an average gradient of over 100’ per mile and is the most extreme ½ day whitewater rafting near Denver!

If you’re physically fit, know how to swim, have an aggressive attitude, and at least 15 years old, this is the Colorado rafting trip for you!

ALL of Clear Creek Canyon
(Advanced):  $190.00

Trip time:  9:15

So you want it ALL, rafting near Denver!!!  All of Clear Creek Canyons trip will start you out in the morning, putting on in the natural surroundings of the free flowing snowmelt of the Rocky Mountains at 8200 ft.  After warming up in the first mile, you will find yourself in the steep and narrow rapids of  Meat and Bones followed by Lumpy’s, each is close to a ½ mile long class IV+.  Follow that up with our most popular stretch of river, Upper Clear Creek Canyon, filled with continuous class III and IV rapids that include Nomad, Phoenix (named after the Phoenix Gold Mine), and finishes with Outer Limits before you float into a lunch at Riley Cooper Park, on the banks of Clear Creek in Idaho Springs.

After our amazing lunch (Describe lunch), you will put back on Clear Creek and continue through Middle Clear Creek Canyon’s class II and III rapids that finish with Mr. Twister before heading into Lower Clear Creek Canyon.  Here, the first two 8′ foot waterfalls, Upper and Lower Beaver Falls, will get your attention before you encounter the steepest and most continuous section of Colorado whitewater, Guide Ejector, Double Knife, Hells ½ mile, and the Terminators, you will drop over 150′ vertical feet in less than 1 mile.  Finish your day with Terminator, Corkscrew and Whew! it’s over.  You are at 6700 feet 18 miles later deep in Clear Creek Canyon.
